FSI are proud and excited to be an implementing partner on the mission to clean up the world’s precious water supplies.
FSI was established in 2006 to offer an ethical recruitment service for workers and migrant workers around the globe. FSI’s fair labour principles and practices have helped thousands of workers escape from modern slavery and enjoy a working life characterized by protection and empowerment.
FSI’s efforts have been recognized by the UN (2013 UNGIFT Business Leaders’ Award to Combat Human Trafficking) and by the Thomson Reuters Foundation (a commendation at the 2017 Trust Law Conference) and the ISOA in 2017. We have addressed the US State Department, the White House and the UN General Assembly on labour exploitation as well as Prime Ministers and senior government officials in labour source, destination and transit countries.
FSI is coming to this critical mission to clean the water supplies that support millions of people around the world, as an ethical labour provider. FSI will leverage its global infrastructure to recruit, train and manage teams of personnel to provide the implementation of the water purification technology. This will provide decent work to a large number of local and migrant workers around the world and engage them in positive initiatives to improve the quality of life for them and their communities.
FSI now operates in ten countries. Leveraging this infrastructure will enable World Water Crisis to set up and manage water treatment operations quickly and efficiently, engaging the local communities by providing fair and professionally managed job opportunities and encouraging buy in to the projects at all levels. In addition, FSI is involved in bringing free internet connectivity to remote areas which facilitates learning for all and the ability to provide critical education on water sanitation and the fair labour methodology that FSI and WWC embed into the water projects.
FSI also works with an organisation which provides controlled environment agricultural technologies that can be used anywhere to help grow horticulture in a manner that maximises yields and social impacts in a manner that is resilient to adverse weather and environmental conditions. This will work hand in hand with the water treatment initiatives providing fair employment, education and empowerment, food and water security, economic growth, and health benefits to those that need it the most.
Through the free internet hubs and the FSI technology platform we will be working with World Water Crisis to gather previously inaccessible data on contaminated and unusable water sources in remote areas. Villagers will be trained and mentored to share information on their local water sources including village ponds, lakes and rivers. This will be a way of engaging communities to come together to clean up their water supplies and create employment and economic prosperity in remote areas.

Clean Water Wave (CWW) is a 100% asset locked social enterprise, dedicated to generating entrepreneurship and training opportunities in low income countries.
We provide a disruptive low energy, no chemicals water treatment technology – CWW’s Clean Aqua for Everyone Water Filtration system (CAFE for short). This innovative system blends advanced chemical engineering with robust mechanical engineering to provide a system that will last up to and beyond 30 years. Our CAFE system will deliver safe clean water, free from parasites, viri and bacteria, and remove pharma and many of the ‘forever’ toxic heavy metals and agricultural chemicals that the CWW team have been finding in all water sources around the globe.
CAFE is designed to deliver European Standard Drinking Water for communities everywhere. In so doing, we aim to create unique opportunities to uplift the health of the most vulnerable communities. We are delighted and stand ready to play an integral role in achieving the impact needed by the World Water Crisis team. We know that, in working together as part of an expert team, we can deliver on the pressing mission to treat the world’s polluted water supplies and improve public and environmental health.
The CWW team are all experts in their various areas of the water sector. The founding directors have all worked in the ‘field’ for decades are have experienced first hand, the challenges faced by communities in some of the most remote and rural areas where agricultural pollution is directly linked with many of the cancers and neurological disorders that manifest themselves. This highly practical team decided that it was time to design a water treatment solution specifically for rural regions. The result our CAFE – a decentralised, sustainable solution that doesn’t depend on expensive supply chains. It is low energy, no chemicals and easy and safe to maintain and operate – it has no moving parts to break/replace.
CWW was formed as a mission driven social enterprise, aligned to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. The team they continue to innovate and educate in the field of the world’s most precious resource, allowing communities the chance to thrive and develop without having to fear their water supply.
CWW is eager to play its part in this critically important mission. Providing clean water will be a key element of what we achieve, but on top of this, by halting pollutants reaching the ocean can in itself contribute to climate change mitigation. Chemical pollution is impacting on ocean plants (phytoplankton), the very things that actually regulate our climate, makes most of our oxygen and sequesters carbon dioxide into the abyss.
Following the installation of our CAFE system(s) on site, we will provide comprehensive training on the operation, monitoring and maintenance of these simple filters, as well as establish local social enterprises. CWW won’t go away, but will continue to provide support, train and educate communities on their water resource, and bring forward any innovations that might help to enhance their local operation and water quality.
You can’t manage what you don’t measure, and Clean Water Wave will be installing real -time telemetry to monitor all World Water Crisis sites – providing transparency as well as good data and AI to help us develop and improve our service for the benefits of the communities in which we work.
The Clean Water Wave team, Bio2Pure® and World Water Crisis share the profound belief and commitment that clean, safe drinking water can and should be within everyone’s reach. Our work with World Water Crisis will result in communities being able to secure their own quality supply, no matter where they live. But, that’s not all. The CAFE can, over time, help to clean up aquifers that have become polluted with, for example, arsenic, pesticides, toxic dyes and heavy metals.
Combining our Clean Aqua for Everyone (CAFE) system with Bio2Pure®’s outstanding biological solutions presents a genuinely sustainable means of helping address one of the biggest humanitarian threats facing our planet and global economy. Quite simply, the team brought together by World Water Crisis will provide access to safe, clean water and treat polluted water, thus saving and improving the lives of people in the hardest to reach communities.
Rooted in the real world, Clean Water Wave are a very determined team who want to make an impact, but know they can’t do this on their own. World Water Crisis have selected Clear Water Wave and Bio2Pure® because they bring a personal, hands-on depth of direct experience in sustainable water management in developing countries. These two organisations are internationally recognised within and beyond their fields of marine biology, social geography, climate change, economic development and management consultancy, with the scientific, technical, commercial and critical community engagement skills to help World Water Crisis make a clean water vision a reality.
